STEFFI LAIER: WMX, round #6: only 1 GP left to go!!

Steffi gets double victory in Slovenia ! It all went great this weekend. We worked hard in the last weeks to give Steffi a better bike for handling and that gave a great performance. The track is a very natural beautifull but the temperature gets very very high here. However we did everything very calm on saturday to safe all the energy for the race on sunday; She did win the quali race without doing any effort...

Steffi in action!

Sunday: Race 1: Steffi took commando in the first corner and did try to pull away. Fontanesi became second. After 3 laps Fontanesi took with big risk the lead and Steffi just did hold the back wheel.

2 laps later Fontanesi crashed on the same place she did overtake Steffi. The KTM Factory rider could not go left or right and did ride over Chaira... She did nearly crash but could manage to keep it straight. She could ride easy to the win... and win again 3 points on Fontanesi. Larissa became 3.

Race 2: She took the holeshot and in the second corner Steffi did hold the door to wide open so Fontanesi took the lead and Steffi took control about 4 sec. In the last 3 laps Steffi started to turn the factory KTM some RPM higher and went for it. Larissa was 3th on a distance. Steffi pushed there limits and took in the last corner Chiara. A superb pass would give Steffi the double victory! Taking 6 points on Fontanesi gives Steffi 15 points in the main standings with only 1 race left to go!

Steffi Laier, Ariete grips&goggles rider: " I had no stress on Saturday, everything went well and I had a superb feeling on the bike. I also felt great during practice on Sunday but I wanted to win the races so badly I made myself a bit crazy. I also had a bit of arm pump after the first race. Actually, I feel a bit like a diesel at the moment because it’s only in the last 10 minutes I start to ride the way I should be. Now I have a lead in the points I can start to relax!"

Remark!! There is only 1 GP left after this round. Yesterday Youthstream annouced to cancel the last 2 rounds because of no tracks to ride... The only round still left is the France GP on the 8th august..
